A better understanding of God’s Word.

There are no new revelations more annoying than those that reveal the weakness of our original idea or thought by showing us a better understanding of God’s Word.

Dr Ian Traill

If you are a Christian who is using an OT Scripture to point out that some people are in sin and you are in sin using the same bases does that not condemn you too from representing God? Grace in the NT can only have its full outworking when the sinner becomes a repentant believer. Jesus will say to many people who believe they are Christians, “Go away I don’t know you”

Grace is part of God’s virtue and has always been available to humanity as can be seen when God killed the animal in the garden to cover Adams sin and when Jesus died on the cross. Grace is available to all but there are requirements. An RSVP is required when a person is made aware of their sins and the forgiveness of God is presented.
If you or I are aware of sin in ourselves or in the camp of the saints and we do nothing about it claiming that grace will cover it, you are mistaken, because if we do that then we have become little gods, and we share in the sin.

The sadness we may feel is when we try to bring people to the awareness of sin, and then we are criticized by poorly informed Christians who say such things as;
*“God knows your heart, even if you are in sin”
*“God’s grace covers your sins”
*“It’s covered by grace”
*“You need to show grace”
* “You’re pushing people away from Christ”
* “You’re a legalist”
*“You’re judging people”
*“Who made you judge?”
*“You’re not Christ-like”
* “You need to show love”.
* “
All this sounds right, but those who say these things are only cherry-picking, cafeteria philosophical, carte blanche Christians who want to gloss over sin that they want to close their eyes to the perilous position they are in. None of the above statements of critic are true when you are trying to turn people away from hell.
If we get back to the Bible and preach from the Old and New Testaments holding a fundamental position, we will see many get saved.

  1. Thak you Pastor Ian;
    Todyas people need and require the truth, unless they are to like the peole in Isaiah’s day where they failed to hear, failed to see and failed to believe because they ha dhard hearts and blind eyes,

    Please keep up the back to the Bible messages they must get through to some soon, there is too much lack of faith and beliefe around in the so called Christian beliefe today, to smiling and winking and compromise and none or little commitment to Christ and the Word of the Lord

    .Isaiah said in Chapter one, “…Come let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet, thay shall be white as snow, though the be asa crimson they shall be as wool…”

    If you are willing and obedient.

    Regards George.
